We’re off!
The calendar is quickly filling up with fundraising events during 2017 and there will be something for everyone whatever the weather! People’s generosity has been overwhelming, with offers to run events, financial donations, prizes for competitions, offers of skills and services – its very clear to see Holy Cross Church is very important to the Chiseldon community. But we still have a long way to go to reach our £15K target.
THE ChIRP ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, Chiseldon House, Friday 28th April @ 7.30 p.m. – Do you have any antiques you would be interested to find out more about? Why not bring them along to this, our first major fundraising event which will be held in the Orangery at Chiseldon House Hotel. Relax in the company of friends and family over a two-course meal, while listening to an antiques expert discussing and valuing items which have been brought along. An ideal way to spend a Spring evening!
Tickets are £25 per head and are available directly from the Chiseldon House Hotel (cash only please) and will be available from early March. MONTHLY BRING & BUY SALE – this has got off to a great start already this year with items bought and sold and so far raising around £100. The sale takes place every second Sunday throughout 2017 following Morning Worship at Holy Cross Church Hall, with tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits available. The next one will be on Sunday March 12th so how about bringing along your good quality items, unwanted gifts, pictures, books, ceramics, toys, etc. Please contact Linda Gillett on 01793 740165 for details.
‘CHISELDON IN FOCUS’ PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION AND VILLAGE CALENDAR – open now, closing date May 14th.
Are you passionate about village life, and enjoy taking photographs? Why not submit an entry to our competition, and possibly have your photo included in a Chiseldon Village calendar for 2018. Included with this month’s Ridgeway Bell is a flyer telling you how to enter, and all details are also on the website. Good Luck!
ChIRP 2018 WEBSITE – www.chirp.me.uk. We are delighted to announce the arrival of a new website specifically for this year-long fundraising project. Here you will be able to find the most up-to-date information on all aspects of the ChIRP project including current and future events, news and reviews of events as they have taken place, and how to make a financial donation directly to the ChIRP fund should you wish, as well as donations of any other description. We will also continue with monthly updates in the Ridgeway Bell.

June 10th – Village Fete
June 10th – Silent Auction, to be launched at the Village Fete
August – ‘Chiseldon in the Eighties’, exhibition of photographs of the village as it was 30 years ago.
September 16th – Barn Dance, Calley Memorial Hall
October – Rock for Renovation Concert, Holy Cross Church
November 25th – Christmas Fair, Holy Cross Church.
