On Saturday 19th November 2022 various groups from the Parish got together on a sunny cold morning to plant 5 trees in total, to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee.
The groups were the Chiseldon Local History Group who planted a tree in the Butts Road cemetery near the museum, the Women’s Institute who planted a tree in the church carpark, which also celebrated 100 years of the WI, the Chiseldon Gardening and Countryside club who joined together with the Parish Council to fund 8 fir trees on New Road near the War Memorial, the Washpool Area Restoration Group who planted a Wingham Elm at the washpool site, and the Parish Council who planted a willow tree and time capsule on the Recreation Field.
We ended the morning with refreshments at the Rec Hall. Our thanks to everyone who got involved in this project.
