Local elections 4th May 2023 UPDATE
The results came back of the Ward Cllr elections with Jenny Jefferies (Conservative) losing her seat to Neil Hopkins. (Labour) Ward Cllr Hopkins has been invited to attend our May council meetings.
We now have 7 Parish Cllrs after the uncontested election and hope to co-opt 8 to bring the council to full capacity. Some of the ex-Cllrs who did not submit their nomination papers have indicated they will stand for co-option. We urge any residents who meet the qualifying criteria to consider coming forward for co-option.
Coronation event 29th April 2023 UPDATE
We all had an amazing day for our Coronation event – so glad we picked the best weekend for the weather!
We have published full thank you lists on our Facebook page and website but just to say thank you again for everyone’s hard work – it was a brilliant event and we raised around £900 to £1000 for our charities (which includes their own profits from their stands on the day).
Photos are on our website and Facebook page.

Hodson Road re-surfacing is scheduled shortly but no exact date is known.
Removal of Build Out on New Road – This item is part of the considerations above. No update
Hedge cutting work at the New Road allotments – quotes being obtained. Quote approved, work to go ahead during February. Delay due to unforeseen circumstances, being re-visited in March meeting. New quotes approved – work to be carried out end of April. Due to nesting birds this item has been deferred to Autumn.
Layby works for Draycot Foliat and Windmill Piece.
Due to an issue with the contractor, the Parish Council are having to go out to tender again to start the process of getting approval to create 2 new layby parking areas.
We will look to approve the tender process in March’s planning meeting and hopefully approve a contractor in April or May.
The tender was approved at the March meeting and are now published and we invite tenders.

A reminder that the Parish has 4 defibrillators – one outside Cameo Hairdressers on High Street, one outside the Pavilion on the Recreation Field, one outside the Calley Memorial Hall on Draycott Road and one in the BT Box in Badbury. All units are accessed by calling 999 to gain the code for the box. You cannot use these defibrillators on someone who doesn’t need it as the machine will not work. It also provides audible instructions on how to use them.
