16/152. Approval of minutes.
The minutes of the meeting held on 16 November were approved by Cllr Brady, seconded by Cllr Bowles; all those at the meeting in favour.
16/153. Matters arising.
It was noted that a Tennis Rep had not attended the previous two meetings

Clerk to invite Warren (Tennis) and Matt (Table tennis) to attend the next Recreation meeting.
Cllr Brady will email information on local support groups to the Clerk.
Cllr Sunners will investigate sponsored trips to a local motor-cross facility

16/154. Football matters.
There was no representative from the Football Club at this meeting and no issues have been raised.
16/155. Tennis Club.
At 7.07pm Steve Ruddiford from the Tennis Club joined the meeting.
Confirmed the Open Day was still scheduled for 16th April at 11.00
Cllr Bowles asked for a breakdown of the tennis club users, and how many are Parish residents. Steve said he would get this information for the Committee but that there was a good proportion of local children.
16/155 Continued
Talked about Phil, the Tennis Coach doing a lot of children’s coaching sessions, and these children often join as junior members of the club. Once they get to 16/17 years old they then join as full members. They also become Swindon tennis league members.
Cllr Jefferies discussed the use of “Raring to Go” magazine being used more to promote the facilities. Also discussed Phil, the Tennis Coach buying advertising space to benefit his business. Cllr Brady suggested this be taken off line for a future discussion.
It was confirmed that Steve would invite Cllr Jefferies to a meeting to discuss this further.

16/157. Pavilion
No issues to report
16/158 Recreation Ground
The playing surfaces are currently too wet to be used. It has been suggested that planning permission be submitted for Astroturf to be laid. There are no further issues to report.
16/159. Recreation Hall
The newly installed PIR lighting needs to be adjusted and Cllr Sunners is in contact with the electrician.
The fire door to the kitchen area is no longer closing properly. This will need fixing due to fire regulations. Cllr Walton to investigate.

The Wednesday night van has good attendance. No issues to report
