We’re approaching the school summer holidays which is often the busiest time for police forces.
To try and reduce the demands on our extremely busy community policing teams and call operators, we are asking you to help prevent crime, and save our time, by taking some simple steps to keep your home secure and reduce the risk of falling victim to burglary.
While we appreciate it is getting hotter and it’s tempting to leave windows open when you are out and about, please reconsider this as opportunist burglars will see this as an invitation in to your home.
Ensure doors are locked at all times and never leave spare keys in obvious hiding places such as letter boxes, under door mats or in plant pots. Thieves know where to look.
