If you need to get to work over the snowy weather or during floods etc, consider asking your company to register with Wessex 4×4. This is a volunteer organisation that for a small fee to cover costs use their list of 4×4 drivers to assist in travel crisis. The NHS use Wessex 4×4 and the police also call upon them when the force doesn’t have enough vehicles or man power. If you own a 4×4 you can sign up to be a volunteer after a short foundation training course.
