As many residents of Chiseldon will be aware, Swindon Borough Council operates a Gypsy and Traveller site on the periphery of the village. The site is used as a temporary facility for travellers moving through the area so is only open in exceptional circumstances.
At the time of writing the site is occupied by a small group of travellers who have a licence to occupy until the end of November and are being supervised by Council Officers.
