From April, Gas and Electric bills increased after the independent regulator, Ofgem, announced that the energy price cap was to rise by 6.4 per cent from the start of the new financial year.

Thames Water also announced that water bills will increase in the coming months, with an average annual bill rising by £123. It’s important to remember that support is available with these additional costs.

Thames Water provides financial support to those in need, which can be accessed by completing an online income and expenditure form. They will then be in touch within 10 working days with recommendations on any financial support they may be eligible for.

If you are affected by the rise in energy costs, contact your energy supplier. Suppliers must work to agree on a payment plan under Ofgem rules. This includes reviewing a plan that has been agreed before.

The Great British Insulation Scheme, funded by energy companies, offers free or cheaper insulation to reduce home energy bills.
