The owners of the Calley Arms property have advised Swindon Borough Council (SBC) that they wish to dispose of the freehold of the property.
A notice to SBC was sent because Chiseldon Parish Council requested an “Asset of Community Value” (ACV) be placed on the site. This was approved by SBC several years ago.
This ACV allows any interested community groups to submit a written request to SBC that they wish to be treated as a potential bidder.
We believe that The Silks on the Downs pub is the result of a successful ACV bid.
