Thamesdown Changes to Bus Services 8th January 2017 and December Dayrider Sales
Thamesdown Service Change 8th January 2017
Thamesdown will be commencing perhaps its biggest service change in a decade from 8th January 2017.
Amongst the changes, passengers will see Services 1/1A and 16 combined to provide a service to the Great Western Hospital every ten minutes. Running as Service 1/1A the service will take an amended route and new timetable from Fleming Way to the hospital. North Swindon residents will also see their buses change, with Service 12 extended with a new route to serve Blunsdon and Highworth. Passengers in Haydon End who previously used the Service 12 will be able to use an amended Service 15/15A, with Oakhurst connected to Nationwide House and Old Town via Pinehurst with the revised Service 11 (which includes a new Sunday Service). Buses on Service 17 will also be increased to provide a service every 7/8 minutes from Penhill to Park North and vice versa. Swindon’s new housing developments of Badbury Park and Ridgeway Farm will also benefit from the 12 and 19/19A respectively being rerouted to serve these homes. The changes taking place in January affect the majority of our services across Swindon so we would urge passengers to check the new timetables when they are available to see if their service times or numbers are changing. Timetables will be available to view on our web site from the 2nd December 2016 and available from our Travel Shop on Fleming Way from the 27th December 16.
Thamesdown December Sale
From the 3rd December we will be lowering the price of the Swindon Dayrider from £4 to £3.50 on weekends with the price of the Swindon Dayrider plus reducing to £4.50 also on weekends.
December is an expensive time of month and we hope that our weekend offer will encourage more people to use the bus for travel within Swindon and so increase the number of people spending locally.
The changes to the local bus network which commence from the 8th January are very extensive, so would be very grateful if you could to forward this email to anyone within your organisation who you feel would be affected by our changes. If possible could our changes also feature within any internal communications you may have.
As mentioned earlier, Thamesdown will be commencing perhaps its biggest service change in a decade from 8th January 2017 and we are keen to ensure that as many people as possible are aware of the changes ahead of the 8th January 2017.
