UK-wide digital inclusion campaign is back for 2016 in Swindon Libraries
A campaign, which aims to show people how the internet can make life easier, cheaper, healthier and more fun will roll into Swindon next week.
Get Online Week runs from 17 to 23 October and will see thousands of events taking place across the country.
Now in its 10th year, the campaign has helped almost 300,000 people discover the benefits of getting online.
During this year’s Get Online Week Swindon Libraries are offering FREE sessions for beginners who would like to learn how to use their iPad.
The workshops will help people discover how to tap, pinch and swipe, while also learning how to access the internet to find information on health matters, paying bills online, job seeking, social media, using email, online shopping and much more.
There will also be some handy tips on how to use the camera on an iPad to take photos. All people need to do is bring their own iPad or tablet, or borrow one from the library service on the day.
The sessions will run between 10am and 12noon at the following libraries:
Highworth Library – Monday, 17 October
Central Library – Tuesday, 18 October
North Swindon Library – Wednesday, 19 October
North Swindon Library – Thursday, 20 October
West Swindon Library – Friday, 21 October
People of all ages are welcome to attend and the groups will be small, relaxed and be led by qualified trainers.
